Namal Dam Mianwali
In 1913, British engineers, to meet the scarcity of irrigation and drinking water, built a dam on this
namallake and irrigated lands up to Mianwali city. But with the passage of time and construction
of Thal Canal and installation of tube wells, its utility of water squeezed up to some limit.
The gates of the dam are repaired by the irrigation department regularly but without enthusiasm.

The hill torrents and rains fill the Namal Lake round the year. Due to a drought-like situation in the
country, this lake dried up last year, which is the first incident of its kind during the last 100 years.
Presently, its condition is very bad.

Candles were burnt in UOS Mianwali For Peshawar Schook attack by TTP
On 16 December 2014, 9 gunmen affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) conducted a terrorist attack on the Army Public School in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar. The militants, all of whom were foreign nationals, included one Chechen, three Arabs and two Afghans. They entered the school and opened fire on school staff and children, killing 145 people, including 132 schoolchildren (all boys ), ranging between eight and eighteen years of age. A rescue operation was launched by the Pakistan Army's Special Services Group (SSG) special forces, who killed all seven terrorists and rescued 960 people. Chief military spokesman Major General Asim Bajwa said in a press conference that at least 130 people had been injured in the attack.
This was the deadliest terrorist attack ever to occur in Pakistan, surpassing the 2007 Karachi bombing.According to various news agencies and commentators, the nature and preparation of the attack was very similar to that of theBeslan school hostage crisis that occurred in the North Ossetia–Alania region of the Russian Federation in 2004.

ATTENTION PLEASE......!
Validation of Data for Prime Minister #Laptop_Scheme
Students are again advised to validate their records within the stipulated
extended time period.
Record validation date for students studying in PhD/ MPhil/ MS (or equivalent)
has been extended till October 31, 2014
and
for students studying in Bachelors or Masters (16 year) degree program till
November 16, 2014.
This is final call and students who do not validate their records within
the stipulated time may not be considered as eligible for the said scheme
Please use your own email id, CNIC and mobile number for validation process as
the provided data will be used for further processing, In case of incorrect
data or same email id used on behalf of other students may lead to cancellation
of validation process.
